We have an opportunity for an Administrative Assitant to join our team at Aughnacloy House.  

About Aughnacloy House

Aughnacloy House is a purpose-built nursing home in the centre of Lurgan. All rooms are en-suite and there are beautiful gardens and outdoor areas for residents to enjoy. In addition, there are themed areas throughout the home for therapeutic activity and treatment including a light therapy suite and also a fully equipped hairdressing salon.

The Role

Within this role, you will assist the Home Administrator in the weekly administration of the Nursing Home.  This is a part-time role of 16 hours per week (2 days per week – flexibility required).   The successful candidate will hold high degrees of numeracy and IT skills.

Main Tasks/Responsibilities

    • Assist the Home Administrator in all aspects of the recruitment of staff
    • Compile and maintain staff personnel files.
    • Complete vaccination reports/isolation reports
    • Ensure floors are safely staffed over weekends – checking rotas
    • General administrative duties.
    • Maintain an up-to-date list of residents in the Home and on the waiting list.
    • Maintaining client, staff and Company confidentiality at all times and ensuring all confidential records are stored securely
    • Issuing of documentation for new employees
    • Advise HR Department of absences, new starts, leavers, contract changes etc
    • Adhering to all Company policies and procedures and legislative guidelines.
    • Liaise and assist with Head Office enquiries and forward all information as required.
    • Banking
    • Drawing up notices and producing new documents and charts as and when required
    • Any other administrative function as required
    • Meeting and greeting families and potential service users
    • Receiving and dealing with telephone queries and redirecting incoming/internal phone calls as necessary
    • Promoting the image of the Home with a courteous, mannerly and efficient approach.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 1 year’s administrative experience
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Cash handling experience.
  • Extensive telephone experience dealing with customers.
  • Experience working within a care environment.
